Impressions Advertising & Marketing announced Jan. 31 the launch of Free RPG Day for gamers across the country. The in-store event will be celebrated Saturday, June 23.
Impressions, working with hobby game retailers and RPG publishers, will bring new RPG Quickstart Rules and Adventure Modules to the hands of gamers. Consumers will get their hands on brand new material for a variety of RPGs, and no overstock, retail-priced, or dead product will be given away.
“The goal is to get consumers inspired to play a new RPG, which could in turn, create sales through a consumers local brick-and-mortar retailer. We already have commits from Goodman Games, White Wolf, Chessex and others.” said Aldo Ghiozzi, owner of Impressions.
“We are very much in support of this”, said Ed Evans, owner of All Things Fun in West Berlin, New Jersey. “I welcome old and new customers alike to make a day of it in my store!”
All gamers need to do is find a participating retailer (as they sign up) at
www.FreeRPGDay.com.
Impressions Advertising & Marketing handles the distributor sales and shipping for nearly 50 hobby game companies to over 40 distributors worldwide, while also being the publishers of GameBuyer Magazine, the only monthly business-to-business publication 100% devoted to the hobby game retailer.
One of Skirmisher’s most innovative new publications is USSMC FM 7-22: Space Boarding Operations, scheduled for release in spring 2007 and designed to read like an actual U.S. Space Marine Corps field manual devoted to boarding hostile spacecraft in 2089. Its author, Lt. Col. Oliver Cass, is an active-duty U.S. Army officer experienced in both real-world operations and manual writing.
USSMC FM 7-22 is also the official publication of TerrorWerks, a heart-pounding live-action roleplaying experience that will debut at the Origins game show in July 2007. It is being organized by the venerable PST Productions — one of the longest-operating and most successful Cthulhu Live production groups — and MindGame Productions, a live-action gaming company that runs the largest Airsoft events on the East Coast. TerrorWerks players will assume the roles of U.S. Space Marines, civilian engineers, and MineraTek executives thrust into the heart of an orbiting refinery that is being ravaged by an unknown alien horror. Using their wits, skills, and an arsenal of fully-automatic Airsoft weapons, the Marines will battle their way through the station, racing against the clock to save themselves and any survivors. Along the way, the players will search for clues to the identity and origins of the horrors that strike out of the darkness.
