Skirmisher has just acquired the entire "Quactica" line of white metal figures from miniature manufacturer
Lance & Laser (Columbus, Ohio).
This deal was the result of a series of meetings between Skirmisher's Michael Varhola and Lance & Laser's Erik Morrice in August during Gen Con 2008 in Indianapolis to discuss transfer of the line from one company to the other.
The "Quactica" miniature line, which consists of 93 figures organized into 26 sets of one to five miniatures each.
Most of these miniatures were sculpted by veteran game designer Steve Lortz, and a number were created by sculptors Clint Staples (Warthogs, Hogre, Rarebits) and Kevin Contos (Dwargs). More information about the rules and miniatures is available from a
dedicated section of the Skirmisher's online game store (http://skirmisher.cerizmo.com/categories/559--quactica-rules-miniatures).
For a limited time, anyone who buys two or more sets of the metal figures will automatically receive a free PDF version of the
Quactica miniatures rules, and anyone who orders five or more sets will receive a free copy of both the PDF and the hardcopy book version of the rules!
Skirmisher Publishing LLC has entered into an agreement with 5th Epoch to distribute its
Metal, Magic and Lore role-playing game through its various sales outlets, including its
online store and directly through its booth at game conventions.
Metal, Magic and Lore combines the classic elements of fantasy role-playing with a very realistic setting. Combining fast-paced combat and magic play with a setting rooted in historical realism, MML is proving an appeal to seasoned RPGers who crave a mood of an epic literary saga in their campaigns.
"This is truly a beautiful game and we are very pleased at the opportunity to sell it alongside our own products," said Michael J. Varhola, head of Skirmisher. "We identified this as the best new role-playing game released last year and being able to help get it into people's hands this year is very exciting for us."
