Q: I'm looking for any leads you may give me on two old Dragon articles dating back to the 80s. One was on a new sub class of rangers called an Archer ranger and the other was regarding character profiles on Elric and Stormbringer. Any help would be appreciated.

A: Several years ago, Wizards of the Coast released an indexed version of Dragon back issues on CD. If that is still available, it would probably be your best bet for tracking down specific articles.

With regard to the Archer Ranger, our understanding is that the bow-oriented options available to the v.3.5 Ranger incorporate an earlier vision of what this class should be. Around the time the v.3.5 rules were released, there was a download available on the Wizards site with an alternate bow-using Ranger class.

With regard to the Elric stats, it must have been the very early 1980s! Prior to the 1984 re-release of the 1st Edition Dungeons & Dragons Deities & Demigods tome, this book included sections on the Melnibonean and Cthulhu mythos. These were, however, infringements of other people's intellectual property, and the book was reprinted without them (and without, naturally, any mention of the book's previous incarnation).
